Holiday Shipping and Gift Buying
When do I need to place my order to make sure I get it by the holidays?
This year we highly recommend ordering as soon as possible and choosing the fastest shipping method you can.
We have put together a list of recommended 'order by' dates for various countries and shipping methods here.
I need help choosing a gift!
How do I track my order?
Once your order is dispatched (usually 1-3 biz days after purchase) you will receive an email to say your order is on it’s way. This email contains a tracking link to allow you to track your order. If you have any trouble tracking your order or you did not receive an email please contact us and we will get right on it!
How do you process payments? Can I pay with Paypal?
You can pay with credit/debit card using our Shopify Payments secure gateway, Paypal or Apple Pay.
Australian customers can also pay with Afterpay which allows you to pay in 4 easy installments. Please contact us if you have any questions about placing your order or our payment facilities.
Do you offer a warranty?
We sure do! We offer a ‘common sense’ lifetime warranty on all of our products. Our lifetime common sense warranty covers your strap from issues with the workmanship under normal use conditions. So basically if you are using it as a camera strap and it’s not holding up we will fix or replace it, if you are using it to tow your friends broken down car home then we may not…
This warranty does not specifically cover any equipment the camera was carrying or normal ageing and wearing of leather.
Please inspect your camera straps regularly, especially where it connects to the camera. Some small wear marks may appear on the webbing after a lot of use, this is normal. However, if you think the webbing may be compromised please contact us asap.
How do I return a strap for an exchange or refund?
We offer change of mind refunds on any product that hasn’t been personalised within 30 days of receiving your strap. We don’t charge a restocking fee but you will be responsible for the cost of shipping the strap back to us.
If you choose to exchange your strap we will cover the postage cost of sending out the new strap to you after your returned strap has safely arrived back to us.
We offer a lifetime guarantee on the workmanship of our straps, if there is anything at all wrong with your strap please contact us straight away!

The strap I want is out of stock, when will it be available again?
Unfortunately from time to time we run out of certain strap sizes and colours. Everything is made here in Bendigo (Australia) but we do produce things in small runs rather than one strap at a time. This means that generally straps that are out of stock should be back in 1-3 weeks although it could be a little longer if we are waiting on leather from our suppliers.
You can sign up for ‘Back in Stock’ notifications on the product page for the strap you are interested in. This way you will get an email as soon as they are back in stock and you won’t miss out!
If you need a strap by a certain date please get in touch with us and we will let you know if we will have them done in time.
Where are your products made?
Almost every product on our website is made in our hometown of Bendigo in Australia. Bendigo is about 2 hours north of Melbourne in the state of Victoria. Our packaging is made in Melbourne and so is all of our webbing, even our new Dyneema® cut resistant webbing!
What isn’t made in Australia?
Our beanies are made offshore but we sew the leather patches on here in Bendigo. Our T-Shirts and Hoodies are made offshore but the screen printing is done in Melbourne.
Our new alloy clips used for the Quick Release System were made for us by a manufacturing partner in China as we unfortunately could not have them made here in Australia.
How long have you been making camera straps?
We have been selling Lucky Straps since 2014, although we spent about 12 months before that making and testing prototypes. The team at our factory in Bendigo have been producing leather accessories for the music industry for over 30 years!
I’m buying from the USA, how does shipping and currency conversion work?
We are an Australian business but almost half of our camera straps are sold into the US which is something we are extremely proud and appreciative of!
All of our straps are shipped directly from our head office (Bendigo, Australia) by either Australia Post (Standard) or DHL (Express). Our Standard Australia Post shipments are fulfilled by USPS in the US.
If you are in a hurry to receive your order please choose the DHL Express option at checkout.
You are now able to checkout in either US Dollars or Australian Dollars when using our Shopify Payment gateway. If you choose to checkout through paypal then the payment will be processed in Australian Dollars.
This means that if you are buying a strap that is listed on the website as USD$82 when you go through the paypal checkout it will display in Australian Dollars (approx AUD$120) depending on the conversion rate at the time. This doesn’t mean that you are paying $120 US Dollars as Australian Dollars are currently worth approx. $0.67 US Dollars.

I’m buying from the UK or elsewhere in Europe, do your prices include VAT?
Our prices do not include VAT or other import duties, this means that you will have to pay these charges when your item arrives in your country. This doesn't mean you are getting charged extra tax, if we were able to include them in our prices and collect them on your behalf then the prices on our website would be higher.
Please check your country's import tax legislation closely so you are aware of what the total cost will end up being.
We ship with Australia Post (Standard Shipping) and DHL Express (Express Shipping) to most countries in Europe and the process for the collections of customs fees can differ depending on the service chosen and the country you live in.
Do any stores stock your straps? Do you have international distributors in the USA, Europe etc?
Other than a couple of bourtie local stores in our area, we currently only sell our products directly through our online store. This allows us to be able to personalise straps before they are sent out, as well as making sure that extremely high demand products are equally available throughout the world.
We have a great shipping setup with DHL express to most countries, which allows for pretty fast international shipping. We heavily subsidise the cost of this premium shipping service to help you get your strap as fast as possible without having to pay high shipping fees.
